CareerFest 2012 Summary

The annual OFIC CareerFest was held on Friday, February 3, 2012 in Columbus, Ohio at the Aladdin Shrine Center. The purpose of CareerFest is to bring students and alumni from OFIC's 34 member institutions to meet with OFIC's donor companies and organizations in one central location to discuss internship and employment opportunities. This year 119 organizations - businesses, corporations, non-profit groups, and government agencies - and over 1,100 students registered from 33 of our campuses to discuss permanent employment and internship opportunities. Any student who registered but could not attend received all of the employer contact information for their employment search.

CareerFest 2013 has been scheduled for February 1st in the same location and our goal is to achieve a growth in employers and return to 1,200 students.

"Great and well-organized event! We rarely see such well-prepared, motivated and professional candidates, especially at a College Job Fair" (Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company)

"The number of students we spoke to and the quality of students we encountered were record breaking" (Reynolds and Reynolds)

"CareerFest 2012 was a great opportunity to meet a large number of high quality candidates in a short amount of time.  The candidates in attendance were professional and very well spoken.  I do believe we found some quality prospects in the time we spent at CareerFest"  (Sherwin-Williams Co.)

"TQL was very impressed by the quantity and quality of people.  There was a steady flow and I know we will hire." (Total Quality Logistics)

"We have been attending CareerFest for four years and have never been disappointed.  This is an even that should not be missed by any employer." (AcuSport)

"Very organized job fair, prospects seemed to have done research on potential employers and knew what they were looking for."
(MPW Industrial)

"We met many great prospective candidates." (Westfield Insurance)
